The social welfare and health care services of the town of Kokemäki are provided by Wellbeing services county of Satakunta. Kokemäki’s local health centre is located at Tulkkilantie 4, 32800 Kokemäki.

Library

The Kokemäki library offers comprehensive library services. It also organises various events, themed days, and exhibitions. In addition to the main library, Kokemäki also has a smaller library in Kauvatsa.

Swimming hall

Swimming hall has been renovated in 2005. It has four-lane 25m fitness pool, depth 115-210cm (27 °C), children’s pool (30 °C), depth 95cm, cold water pool (7 °C), 4 water massage showers, water exercise display and disabled lift.

Opening hours: Tue–Thu 2pm–8pm, Fri 3pm–8pm, Sat 12pm–5pm
Morning swims: Tue and Thu 6am–8am
People with reduced mobility and senior citizens: Fri 1.30pm–3pm.

Tulkkila sports park

In the area there is a chewing track, a running track, an turf field (field size 50 m x 80 m), a frisbee golf course, an sports arena, a playground and a parking lot. In 2023, the Kokemäki children’s traffic park was also opened in the area (maintained by Kokemäki Lion’s club).

Pitkäjärvi sports center

Pitkäjärvi Center is located by lake Pitkäjärvi, address Urheilutie 15, 32810 Peipohja. The area has nature trails of different lengths, a leisure center, a golf hall, frisbee golf courses, a baseball field, a grass field, a dance stage, an ice hall (Teljä Areena), beach, campsite and accommodation.

Kokemäki agricultural museum (Maatalousmuseo)

The Kokemäki Agricultural Museum is Finland’s first museum founded in a granary. The exhibition in the granary, built in the 1930s, has remained unchanged until today. The museum located next to the church was built in 1838. The three-storey stone granary has farm items as well as miniature models, a gun collection and equipment from several lines of trade. Free admission. Open during the summer time, other times by appointment.

St. Henry’s Chapel (Pyhän Henrikin kappeli)

The chapel’s pulpit is Finland’s oldest surviving wooden building. It’s covered with the octagonal chapel building, which was inaugurated in 1857 to protect the wooden structures. Free admission. Guided tours in summertime.

Kokemäki Outdoor museum (Kokemäen ulkomuseo)

The 15 traditional buildings from all over Satakunta that are currently in the Kokemäki Outdoor Museum area were relocated to this site in 1962–1963. Free admission. Open during the summer time, other times by appointment.

Electricity Museum (Sähkömuseo)

The Electricity Museum is the former main transformer station of Kokemäen Sähkö Oy, and it was used for electricity transformation purposes until 1997. Open every day in June–August.

Leather courier Museum

Seamstress’s Home Museum (Ompelijan museokoti)

The old furnishings show handicrafts from the beginning of the 20th century, and a new exhibition space has atelier outfits from the 1960s.
