Kokemäki is a great travel destination right in the heart of the Satakunta region. Kokemäki is easily accessible by public transport or by car, as it is located right along National Road 2 (Pori-Helsinki) and the Pori-Tampere railway line. Buses also stop in Kokemäki.

Pitkäjärvi

Pitkäjärvi lake area offers great opportunities for different kind of outdoor activities. There are a variety of different kind of services from restaurant to equipment rental and meeting facilities. The golf hall serves all year around. Several hiking trails also start from Pitkäjärvi. In Pitkäjärvi the whole family enjoys their time!

Puurijärvi and Isosuo National Park

The national park, established in 1993, opens up to a unique natural landscape, which is perfectly suited as an excursion destination for nature enthusiasts. From address Yttiläntie 981, you can follow the path to the Kärjenkallio bird tower, which is one of the highest in the Nordic countries.

Sights to see

Museum brigde

A wooden grid bridge, completed in the autumn of 1893, was burned in April 1918. A new bridge was built the following summer by Red prisoners. It was completed in 106 days and it was ready for use in October 1919. It was declared as a museum bridge in 1982. Still in use for traffic, the bridge is one of the most beautiful landmarks in Kokemäki.

Stone Church of Gustav III

Kokemäki’s grand stone church on the Tulkkila Hill was built at the end of the 18th century and it is called Gustav III’s Church according to the ruler who determined the location of the church and approved of the construction plan.

Suspension bridge of Säpilä

The 126 m long wooden suspension bridge that crosses the Kokemäenjoki River was built in 1949–1950. The bridge provides a beautiful view to the river and the rocks by the shore are a perfect location for a picnic on a beautiful summer day. The bridge was fully renovated in 2019 by Raitio’s village association. A boat pier can be found on the shore of the bridge.
